The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) is a media organization engaged in [a] media reporting using online and broadcast platforms, [b] promotion of media literacy, press freedom, access to information and freedom of expression, [c] training on journalism, and [d] provision of support and assistance to journalists.
Currently, CCIM is seeking three interns to work at VOD Newsroom for three months based in Phnom Penh.
Requirement:
- Must be Cambodian
- Students studying journalism courses
- Individuals who have undergone training on journalism courses offered by CCIM or any other media organizations.
- Individuals interested to become journalists with skills in news writing but have not undergone formal journalism training courses
- Have a good communications and interpersonal skill
- Honest, hardworking and willing to learn
- Must have the own computer laptop
- Females encouraged to apply
Duties
The interns is responsible for producing daily news, occasional feature reports, interview for CCIM’s online platforms such as:
- Attend morning and afternoon editorial meeting
- Gather information, materials and interviews from sources to prepare a daily news/feature in consultation with News Editors or Editor in Chief
- Find a story by himself/herself every day by consultation with News Editors or Editor in Chief
- Consult with News Editors or Editor in Chief on newsworthy topics or event to research and draft report
- Submit report to News Editors or Editor in Chief before deadline
- Follow VOD news operational guideline standard and Editors’ directions
