The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) is a media development organization engaged in the following activities: producing radio and online programs; media reporting on news websites and social media platforms; training of journalists and aspiring journalists, promotion and training on media and information literacy; training and networking with citizen journalists, and advocacy on media-related rights.
Position : News Reporter

Job Summary:
The News Reporter is responsible for producing straight news, briefing, and feature stories for daily broadcasting and occasionally work as a Master of Ceremony (MC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce news articles for daily broadcasting
- Attend newsroom daily meeting and share at least one story idea
- Gather information for producing
- Write at least one straight and one briefing news on the day that is not in charge of producing feature story, or three straight news pieces per two days
- Submit first draft of straight or briefing news before 3:30 PM
- Produce feature at least one story per month
- Give first draft of feature story at least three days before the broadcasting date
- Follow VOD’s editorial guideline for each story and in consultation with chief reporter and editor
- Prepare voice for daily broadcasting
- Other tasks assigned by editors
- Work as master of ceremony (MC)
- Occasionally work as a master of ceremony for evening broadcasting
- Prepare monthly report of his/her work performance
- Prepare and submit report of performance for once per three months
- Other duties as required
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Cambodian national (women are highly encouraged)
- Bachelor degree in Journalism skill or related field
- At least last 2 years’ successful working experience in the position of news reporter
- Good team player
- Proficient English speaker and capable of listening, writing and reading in English
- Strong Leadership skills
- Competent at typing Khmer Unicode and using Microsoft office
- Good communication skills and relations with other journalists
- Wider understanding of social issues
- Capable of creative, critical thinking and speaking
- Able to work flexible hour such as overtime, on roster, on holiday or on weekend, and travel to the provinces
- A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working to develop independent and professional media, promote human rights and democratic governance
