The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) is a media development organization engaged in the following activities: producing radio and online programs; media reporting on news websites and social media platforms; training of journalists and aspiring journalists, promotion and training on media and information literacy; training and networking with citizen journalists, and advocacy on media-related rights.

Position        : Online Manager

Report to         : Editor-in-Chief

Manage           : Social Media Officer, Online Content Officer

Job Summary:

The Online Manager is responsible for leading and supervising the online team to ensure the quality of all digital contents on VOD platforms, joining activities of income generation and producing reports. He is also in charge of developing and implementing digital/social media strategy to build visibilities and branding of VOD and its products to the public.

Duties:

  1. Manage VOD website, mobile app and social media platforms
  2. Lead team in managing VODKhmer.news website, mobile app and its content to ensure accuracy and smooth operation
  3. Support VOD English team to manage or fix VODEnglish.news when needed
  4. Lead team to ensure the security of VOD social media pages and channel
  5. Develop and ensure the implementation of digital strategy of VOD
  6. Work with media director and editor-in-chief to update digital/social media strategy of VOD
  7. Lead the team to implement the strategy to ensure that all VOD’s digital/social media targets are achieved
  8. Develop and ensure the implementation of social media guideline
  9. Take lead to update VOD content/social media guidelines/policy
  10. Ensure all contents published on VOD websites are in accordance with VOD guidelines/policy
  11. Produce reports and take part in generating income
  12. Maintain Records of VOD Online Progress
  13. Use social media marketing tools, Google analytics, Facebook/Social media insights, Hootsuite, as required, to be reported
  14. Coordinate with VOD’s staffs to collect data project updates and monthly outcomes reports for external dissemination
  15. Produce monthly, semester and yearly narrative reports
  16. Provide timely and relevant information to project team, donors, to ensure that M&E finding are regularly steered and fed into program decision making processes
  17. Work with marketing team or MC in making and implementing income generation plan
  18. Other duties
  19. Provide training for internal and external
  20. Administer and monitor all VOD’s social media accounts and fully deliver all social media aspects of the VOD social media strategy
  21. Provide advisory and technical support to the online team 
  22. Other duties as required

Job Requirement:

  • Cambodian national. Women are encouraged to apply.
  • Education background in communication/media commutation and other relevant fields.
  • IT literacy in electronic media, and very good technical affinity for media contexts including knowledge of a wide range of multimedia, web and digital tools
  • Understanding the best practices of main social media channels in Cambodia including Facebook, YouTube, Telegram, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Experience in working with media organizations, using computers and office software packages including, but not limited to Content Management Systems, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Photojournalism, and video editing program
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the process for producing broadcast media tools
  • Wider understanding of social issues, capable of creative, critical thinking and speaking
  • Keep up to date to and adapt to change in technology working in.
  • Good team player and strong Leadership skills
  • Proficient English speaker and capable of listening, writing and reading in English
  • Able to work flexible hour such as overtime, on roster, on holiday or on weekend, and travel to the provinces
  • A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working to develop independent and professional media, promote human rights and democratic governance
