Report to         : Media Development Director

Job Summary:

The Project Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing coordination and support to assigned projects and programs. The coordination and support shall be defined based on the plans of the respective projects and programs.

Duties:

  1. Assist in coordinating, planning and implementation of specific projects’ activities to achieve agreed goals
  2. Coordinate daily activities and ensure that the project plan is successfully implemented and achieved
  3. Maintain and build a good relationship with partner universities, donors, and partner organizations
  4. Promote the Media and Information Literacy (MIL) clubs and forums in Phnom Penh and provinces
  5. Coordinate the implementation of project activities under the Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Program, such as MIL trainings in the universities, MIL forums in provinces, updating and monitoring the MIL’s Facebook page and other social media platforms
  6. Prepare project workplan and budget and oversee the implementation of project activities
  7. Coordinate and provide weekly MIL training and MIL forums to youths in Phnom Penh and provinces
  8. Provide ongoing mentoring, coaching, and training support to trainees and other stakeholders
  9. Assist in developing and updating the MIL curriculum and training materials for the MIL clubs
  10. Assist in the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of specific projects’ activities to ensure quality standards are met
  11. Conduct regular assessment on the progress and outcomes of the activities of the MIL program
  12. Document success stories and lessons learnt from the activities of the MIL program
  13. Provide financial and narrative reports and contribute to the writing of donor reports to a high standard
  14. Assist in the monitoring and recording of the program’s outputs and achievements using the programs’ M&E tools
  15. Assist in complying administrative and financial requirements in the implementation of activities to guarantee CCIM accountability to its stakeholders
  16. Assist in managing the projects’ budgets to ensure consistency with the approved budgets and in preparing financial reports in compliance to the financial policies and procedures
  17. Elaborate administrative and other supportive documents such as meeting minutes, meeting attendance lists, invitation letters, partners and target groups contact details listings, etc.
  18. Administration and Other Responsibilities
  19. Perform other activities as may be assigned by the direct supervisor, department head, or Management Committee in relation to his tasks and duties
  20. Ensure systematic filling system for project supporting documents and all files are placed in a secure platform
  21. Demonstrate an understanding of gender equality, ethnic diversity, cultural sensitivity, and child protection
  22. Attend every bi-monthly meeting and other meeting organize by organization
  23. More tasks require if needed.
  24. Partnership and Networking
  25. Work constructively with colleagues in other departments and teams to promote CCIM’s mission, objective, and vision
  26. Engage in the promotion of media and information literacy (MIL), press freedom, and access to information and freedom of expression
  27. Maintain contact, interaction and share experiences and lessons learned with donors, partners, and other stakeholders

Job Requirement:

  • Cambodian nationality. Women are encouraged to apply.         
  • Relevant education in Media, International Relations, Social Sciences, or Project Management or any other related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in non-government organizations and other civil society groups
  • Satisfactory knowledge and skills in project designing, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Able to work on weekend
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various types of personalities
  • Ability to communicate in spoken and written English language is an advantage
  • Ability to work with teams and can handle different personalities
  • Working knowledge on MS Office applications, graphic software, and other internet applications
  • Sound understanding of Cambodian context in terms of human rights, freedom of expression, access to information, and media landscape
  • Sound understanding of gender and willingness to promote gender equality and women empowerment both within CCIM and through its projects
  • Demonstrate flexible approach and ability to work under pressure and to organize and manage workload to meet deadlines
  • A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working to develop independent and professional media, promote human rights and democratic governance
