The Camera Operator/Video Editor

The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) is a media development organization engaged in the following activities: producing radio and online programs; media reporting on news websites and social media platforms; training of journalists and aspiring journalists, promotion and training on media and information literacy; training and networking with citizen journalists, and advocacy on media-related rights.

The Camera Operator/Video Editor

Location          : Phnom Penh

Work Status    : Full Time

Report to         : TV Manager

Job Summary:

The Camera Operator/Video Editor is responsible for collecting photos and footages and editing those materials into video format for daily news broadcasting.

Duties:

  1. Shoot videos and photos for daily stories
  2. Attend editorial meeting
  3. Take videos and photos for daily broadcasting news as assigned by news editor or TV manager
  4. Do live broadcast on field with reporters
  5. Shoot and set up scene TV Talk show
  6. Take other photos and videos assigned by manager
  7. Edit videos
  8. Produce and edit video for daily broadcasting
  9. Produce and edit videos of feature stories
  10. Edit TV Talk show
  11. Work with supervisor and/or editor to ensure contents are met with standard and delivered on time
  12. Respect all VOD news operational guideline standard/policy
  13. Edit other video as assigned by manager
  14. Ensure all production in safe place
  15. Store all video product in server and divide it by category for easy to access
  16. Before deleting any video file, camera operator must discuss with Editor or TV Manager
  17. Camera operator do not allow to distribute product to third party without approval from Management Committee
  18. Prepare monthly report of his/her work performance
  19. Prepare and submit report of performance for monthly
  20. Social Media Preparation
  21. Upload videos to Facebook and Youtube after final edition
  22. Undertake training and capacity building activates
  23. Work with supervisor to identify areas requiring development
  24. Attend internal and external training as agreed with supervisor
  25. Other duties as required

Job Requirement:

  • Cambodian nationality
  • At least last 2 years’ successful working experience in the position of Camera Operator
  • Successful experience in shooting breaking news, in-depth reports and interviews
  • Proficient English speaker, and capable of listening, writing and reading in English
  • Good interpersonal and written communications skills
  • Good computer literacy across MS Office programs, Internet research, typing Khmer Unicode
  • Capable of using social media networks, internet and email
  • Experience in using Photo and Video Editing (Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere)
  • Wider understanding of social issues
  • Capable of creative, critical thinking and speaking
  • Able to travel to the provinces when required
  • A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working to develop independent and professional media, promote human rights and democratic governance.
