The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) is a media development organization engaged in the following activities: producing radio and online programs; media reporting on news websites and social media platforms; training of journalists and aspiring journalists, promotion and training on media and information literacy; training and networking with citizen journalists, and advocacy on media-related rights.
Position : Translator

Report to : News Editor
Job Summary:
The newsroom translator is responsible for translating news articles both from Khmer to English and English to Khmer, as well as translating documents, speeches, transcripts and other materials as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate news articles
- Trnaslate other documents to help reporters and editor
- Coordinate with editors to plan daily and longer-term new lists
- Other duties as required.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Cambodian national. Women are encouraged to apply.
- Strong Khmer and English writing skills.
- Understanding of, or familiarity with, journalistic writing in both Khmer and English.
- Attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
- Understanding of, or familiarity with, media law and ethics.
- Competent at typing Khmer Unicode and using Microsoft office.
- Good communication skills and relations with other journalists.
- Wider understanding of social issues.
